3 quotes · sourced from Reddit

Pulled from r/boston, r/massachusetts, and town subreddits. Lightly edited for grammar only. The tradeoff quote is on purpose. The honest stuff is what makes the rest believable.

The good
Coolidge Corner on a Sunday morning is the closest thing Greater Boston has to a small European town center. Bagels, coffee, kids in the park, you can walk to all of it.
r/Brookline · Jun 2025 view thread →
The tradeoff
No overnight street parking, period. If you have a car you need an off-street spot, and those run $200 to $400 a month. Most people with cars actually rent in Allston/Brighton and just drive in.

The feel
A $500k condo in Brookline is actually cheaper to own than it looks because of the residential exemption. You're only taxed on about $175k of it. That's the part nobody tells you.
